How RASS- Remote Application Sharing Service Works
RASS – Remote Application Sharing Service from Performance Data consists of two parts - the RASS server and the RASS thin client. RASS server runs on a central server alongside the applications being published. Each client device runs a RASS thin client software module which is available as a native client or browser plug-in.
With advanced technology, RASS virtualizes any Windows, UNIX or Linux application and shares the application across multiple simultaneous users, who are then able to access the same application concurrently! Traditionally, MSPs needed to use Microsoft Terminal Services with Citrix running on top to accomplish the same productivity.
With RASS you can have QuickBooks on a Windows XP desktop and decide you want to share it with ten people. First install the RASS Cluster server on a Windows, UNIX or Linux computer. Then drag and drop the applications you want to share into the cluster server. RASS then hosts the virtual application through the Web onto any platform including Mac OS, JAVA, or ActiveX. The power of RASS technology allows access to network printers as well as complete network file sharing.
